Slovenian Institute for Adult Education

Slovenian Institute for Adult Education (SIAE) was established by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia in 1991. It’s the main national institution for adult education in Slovenia. Its mission is to foster the development of a culture of lifelong learning and education in Slovenia by research, development, counselling and educational activities all supported by an adult education information system.

Role in the project:

SIAE is responsible for implementation of the field trials in selected guidance centers for adults. It will carry on development, monitoring and evaluation.

Slovenian Institute for Vocational Education and Training

The Slovenian Institute for Vocational Education and Training (IRSVET) is a public institution founded by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and co-founded by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia in 1995. In accordance with the basis provided by the Organisation and Financing of Education Act (Official Journal of the Republic of Slovenia, No 12/96), the Institute conducts research, development and consulting.

Role in the project:

IRSVET is responsible for implementation of the field trials in selected school centers (units for adults). It will implement development, monitoring and evaluation of the field trials.

Ministry of Education, Science and Sport

Ministry of Education, Science and Sport (MESS) has different areas of work/directorates, units for policy making of pre-school, basic education, secondary – general and vocational, higher vocational education and adult education. The government established public institutes for research and development in education, two of them will take part in the project as: Slovenian Institute for Adult Education (SIAE) and Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training (IRSVET).

Role in the project:

The Ministry is  responsible for national management and coordination of project activities, dissemination and policy reflection;
